El Cotillo: spectacular sight
The beaches of el Cotillo, unlike the rest of the beaches of Fuerteventura, are chaired by cliffs that make them a beautiful natural spectacle.
From these cliffs, at the right of the village, you will have access to the coast by a series of dirt tracks.
Once on shore, a series of coves and turquoise waters occur. They are ideal for sunbathing and swimming.
The "playa del Castillo" is the most crowded and has better access than the others, followed by the "playa del Aljibe de la Cueva” and "playa del Águila”, which are rather wild.
The village of el Cotillo, located in the Northwest, is a place where the wind blows, making it one of the most attractive places on the island for windsurfing.
Near the inhabited area there are a number of highly recommended lagoons because they look like natural swimming pools, in which the clear water and white sand contrast with the dark volcanic rocks.
El Cotillo is famous for its excellent popular restaurants, which serve the delicious fresh fish of the day and traditional Canarian potatoes with mojo sauce. It is a good plan to stop at one of the outdoor terraces and complete the excursion's day.
