Lanzarote, art and nature
César Manrique designed in his mind the transformation of his island and achieved his goal: to make the most of the natural spaces’ beauty and transform it in tourists centers.
Today, his figure is respected and admired for his deed, his vision of sustainability and capacity to get ahead of the future. The tourists centers are authentic masterpieces that give a particular personality to the island.
The natural architecture of these monuments and the meticulous, sensitive and artistic hand of Manrique make of this route an unusual and unforgettable experience.
Each one of them deserves a calm and peaceful visit.
“Los Jameos del Agua” will surprise you when you cross the underground lake; in the “Cueva de los Verdes” you will hear absolute silence; the “Mirador del Río” will treat you to a wonderful view of the Archipiélago Chinijo; in the “Parque Nacional de Timanfaya” you will get into the heart of the Earth; and the “Jardín de Cactus” was the whim of an artist to have a garden with all the flower varieties of these plants of the desert.
In each center there is a cafeteria that is integrated in the landscape, where you can relax and enjoy these magical places that have made of Lanzarote an important point of the global tourists map.
The island was nominated as Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
