Famara: surf paradise

Famara: surf paradise

One of the most beautiful beaches of Lanzarote is «Caleta de Famara» near the town of Teguise. It's a wide and wild 6 km long beach, perfect to enjoy the ocean breeze while disconnecting.

It is usually windy because of the Alisios winds, and it has waves, so it is ideal for any kind of nautical activities. In the last years it has become a common place for surf, windsurf and kitesurf.

Shops and schools related to these sports have multiplied in the last few years in this little coast town.

The atmosphere is very sporty, especially on weekends.

In this part of the island you will also find people who practice other activities, like biking. In fact, every year a bicycle tour of the island is organized.
